Hello world, and welcome to my new (or should I say first) blog.

Hello world, and welcome to my new (or should I say first) blog.

Background

As a quick background to myself I am a 20 something lad who has always been a rather active person. In particular, I have a keen interest in both (field) Hockey and Cycling. During the Hockey season I find that I concentrate my efforts towards running and sprint training however when the weather warms and the hockey season finishes I switch to cycling. I also enjoy all forms of sport both watching and participating.

What you can expect?

This blog fundamentally is a training diary, however I will on occasions write articles regarding training technique, diet, equipment or events from the world of sport. I have connected a twitter feed to this post which I post all my training data on.

Why am I writing about fitness?

Having recently left University I have found myself at a cross-roads. The childhood shelter of having activities provided for me has disappeared and the effects of playing impact sport are not being shrugged off as quickly as they once were. The desire however to be better, play harder and be faster has never been as strong. Training therefore is becoming even more important than it once was. However, having entered the real world and started a job, my time is increasingly stretched.

Herein lies my agenda behind writing this blog. By making a commitment to write this blog, I hope I can use it as motivation for maintaining a strong training pattern. It will also force me to think about why I do things and how effective/beneficial they were. If I can also provide help or inspiration for others then all the better.
